Del Mar Residence
Del Mar, California
One block from the beach, Del Mar Residence captures the feeling of the ocean without relying on seashells or coastal motifs. Richard Joseph Romano combined the openness of an LA loft with layered shades of blue, curved swivel chairs, and an Italian reclining leather sofa—bringing bold style and comfort for Sunday football. In the dining room, blue grasscloth across the ceiling catches the changing light, creating an underwater mood above a statement table and soft cobalt chairs. The result is a rich, contemporary coastal home designed for everyday living.
