Beverly Hills Showcase House

Greystone Estate · Beverly Hills, California

For his first Beverly Hills showcase, Richard was drawn to two intimate spaces: the women’s and men’s lounges. Their proportions, architectural details, and social purpose offered everything he needed. He imagined the conversations these rooms had held—the places guests might retreat to, relax, and exchange a little gossip.

Chocolate Decadence

For the women’s lounge, Richard turned to dress shops and bridal salons for fabrics, bringing the sensibility of fashion into the room. Pink walls and decorative trim reminiscent of icing set the scene for a playful expression of period glamour with a modern twist.

At its center, a custom ottoman in chocolate satin brought the composition together. Its scale and sculptural form anchored the room, surrounded by soft upholstery, shimmering details, and the contrast of dark accents against pink.

The Mojito Lounge

The men’s lounge offered a more relaxed mood, inspired by the atmosphere of a cigar lounge abroad. Hand-washed walls gave the room a soft mint tone, complemented by hand-painted drapery panels, natural materials, and grass flooring.

The effect was easy and inviting: a place to pause, settle into a seat, and let the conversation continue. The softly washed walls were Richard’s favorite detail, setting the mood for everything around them.
